Report Community Cats in Mecklenburg County

Friends of Feral Felines is a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit serving Mecklenburg County. We have no paid employees, and our ability to help with Trap/Neuter/Vaccinate/Return (TNVR) depends on donations and the support and participation of our community.

Reporting five or fewer cats? A volunteer will reach out in 7-10 days with resources and options to help you manage the situation yourself, if you’re able. We offer training information, financial assistance when available, and loans of humane traps and other equipment to support TNVR.

Reporting more than five cats? A volunteer will reach out within 7–21 days to provide more hands-on TNVR guidance. Please understand that wait times may vary depending on volunteer availability, appointment availability, and the number of requests we receive. Thank you for your patience and understanding as our volunteers work to help cats in our community!

Severely injured or ill cat? Please call Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control (CMACC) or 311 to report an injured or ill community cat so that an animal control officer can be sent to your location to assess the situation. Reporting helps ensure the cat receives the attention he/she needs and prevents unnecessary suffering.  If you're able to safely get the injured/ill cat to CMACC yourself, you can do that as well.

We’re here to help, but our volunteers can’t do this work alone. Lasting change happens when community members work together to help cats in need.
