Thank you for being willing to trap, transport, and care for community cats while they recover from surgery! Your help makes TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) possible and improves the lives of cats in our community.

Here’s How to Get Started

1. Watch the Introduction to TNVR Video

Start by watching Jackson Galaxy’s Introduction to TNVR to learn more about the process.

2. Schedule a Spay/Neuter Appointment

Once you’ve watched the video, contact a low-cost clinic near you to schedule an appointment. Be sure to schedule your appointment before trapping a cat.

3. Arrange a Humane Trap Rental

Contact the Humane Society of Charlotte (HSC) to rent a humane trap.

Rental hours: Monday through Friday 8AM to 3:45PM.
Rental fee: $10 per trap for 14 days, payable at the time of rental
Payment requirements: HSC requires a credit card on file, but the initial rental fee may be paid in cash if needed.
Non-refundable fee: Rental fees do not offset spay/neuter costs. They help HSC maintain its Trap Bank.
Late returns: An $80 replacement fee will be charged to the card on file if the trap is not returned by the agreed-upon date.

IMPORTANT: Please do not trap a cat unless you have a scheduled TNVR appointment or plan to use the Cabarrus Spay Neuter Clinic, which offers walk-in TNVR services Monday through Wednesday.
